• Adobe Reader Security Instructional Site

    Overview

We have seen a number of cases where Fox Village Dressage is crashing due to settings in Adobe Reader when importing online entries. We have found that the following steps will resolve this issue.

  • Note:

If you have Adobe Acrobat installed, you will still need to install Adobe Reader. Otherwise Fox Village Dressage will continue to crash even if you make the changes listed below in Adobe Acrobat.

In order to get to the screen where you will be making the changes, open Adobe Reader. From the menu bar, select Edit and then Preferences. Then select Security (Enhanced) on the left side. The follow screen will appear. The default options are shown in this screen shot.

  • The follow screenshot shows all possible options that we have used to solve this issue, but we recommend that you only apply the options that will resolve your individual case.

  • Our first recommendation is for you to either add Equestrian Entries to the Adobe Reader Privileged Locations or to the Windows Trusted Sites.

  • In order to add Equestrian Entries to the Adobe Reader Privileged Locations, click on Add Host and enter www.equestrianentries.com as shown in the screenshot below and click OK

  • If you choose to add Equestrian Entries to the Windows Trusted Sites, first ensure that Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones is selected. Then click on View Windows Trusted Sites. Select Trusted sites and then click on Sites.

  • Enter http://www.equestrianentries.com as shown in the screenshot below and click Add and then Close.

  • At this point you should test to see if adding Equestrian Entries to your Privileged or Trusted Sites has resolved the issue. If it has not, you can attempt the following.

  • Clear the Enable Enhanced Security check box and/or clear the Enable Protected Mode at startup check box. See the second screenshot above for an example. Again test to see if either of these two options have resolved the issue.
